Introduction

LogiXML is a Business Intelligence (BI) software company of about 50 employees founded in 2000 and based in McLean, Virginia.  LogiXML’s products (we looked at v.9.5) are designed to be modular yet integrated, and include:

  1. Logi Info:  A “managed reporting” tool with two distinct user roles: developer and end-user.  The concept is developers configure dashboards, reporting and analysis, and users can consume, interact and to some extent customize the product of the developers’ work.
  2. Logi Ad Hoc:  An ad hoc reporting application intended as a self-service ad hoc reporting tool for non-developers.
  3. Logi ETL:  A web-based data integration platform for extracting, transforming and loading into data repositories optimized for analysis.  Logi ETL is offered as a combined suite with Logi Info and Logi Ad Hoc, referred to as Logi 9.

The company received a cash infusion from a pair of venture capital firms in September 2008 and, at the start of 2009, brought on an experienced new management team, with Brett Jackson as CEO. The founder, Arman Eshraghi, remains as CTO.  The company has 500 customers - mostly in the United States and other English-speaking countries – and established a presence in continental European countries in 2009, including Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
